nice with kids

Hi,

My husband is coming to Nice for a 4 day conference in Nice in June. I was wondering if my kids aged 4 and 8 years will enjoy the place or is it more of an adult holiday kind of place.

Any suggestions?

Enjoy the beach. Normally it's very pleasant and not to crowded in June.

I travel with kids just about the same age. We were in Nice last summer. There is a small kids park that is geared more for younger kids a block or two of Promenade de Anglais. On top a castle hill which has amazing views of the coast line theres a kids play ground and is a nice place to have a picnic. They enjoyed the beach. I find at that age even the older child if they can run around and play with each other they have fun. You know what interests them so work that into your day. Also check out nicetourisme.com they have a nice download for Nice with children. That will be very helpful for you. Enjoy

That link is very poor for Nice.

Here are some of Nice's parks

There is a huge new park and with amazing kids play area between place massena and the old town called the Promenade du Paillon. Lots of things to climb and swing on for different ages , plus mist fountains , synchronised water fountains and reflecting pools, green space etc,.

parc Phoenix out near airport-corss between a botanic graden and zoo- play and pic nic areas, giant greenhou/habitats with waterfalls, wild fowl lake , animals , fish and birds plus special activities during school holidays

Colline du Chateau- climbing frames, views, waterfall, plenty of green space to run around, archaeological site etc

Parc Estiennes d'orves - huge adventure style play area and natural park, some farm animals

Parc chambrun - ''Temple of Venus'' and play area

by Liberation tram stop - large play area for different ages to the right of the tram lines as you have sea to your back . Also best non-touristy market in Nice here every morning but monday - fruit , veg, flowers, fish, small producer organic etc

Play equipment for various ages at at place fontaine de temple behind the post office

Mont Boron/Mont Alban - view points over Nice and villefranche/cap ferrat, natural park/nature trails , castle

Olive grove at Cimiez beside Matisse museum and Roman Arenas and baths and archaeological site, monastery church and rose garden. Take a picnic and a cheap set of boules for a lovely day out

There are other parks etc as well and plenty of interesting places nearby to visit and special events

What do you kids like to do/see, Lekha?
