Travel choices are train and bus , pre-booked shuttle or taxi

someone recently asked the same questions -they had found a deal of 340 euros return for 5 people

a taxi for 4 would be at least 200 euros one way

maybe your holiday company has a reccommended shuttle company and a special deal?

public transport choices

nice st augustin to st raphael by train -about 10 euros single [per person ] - takes an hour and ten mins but very limited number trains stop at that station

or

take bus 99 to nice ville station - 4 euros per person then much wider selection of trains to st raphael some of which will save you about 20 mins journey time but cost 13 euros

from st raphael take bus 7601 -2 euros

"... very expensive taxis or useless bus services..."

That's France for you, I'm afraid, outside the main conurbations...

Fortunately, Les Prairies de la Mer appears to be at Port Grimaud on the coast and not inland where Grimaud village is. That makes bus 7601 a starter, as SelkieNice says. It's not a bad service by French standards but terribly susceptible in summer to traffic congestion on the main coast road especially between Ste Maxime and St Tropez. Those services marked "E" only run between 3 July and 29 August. EHS run all year, but watch out for the days of operation. If "SaDF" is missing, for example, that bus only runs on weekdays which aren't public holidays.

If you take the train, the bus station in St Raphael is right next to the railway station. Walk up the stairs from the platform where trains from Nice arrive and turn left at the top, away from the main station entrance. A good alternative, if the timings work, is the 3003 bus from Nice airport to St Raphael. The timetable is at varlib.fr/index.php/cg83/Horaires_des_lignes…

It's more expensive than the train at €16, but it's more convenient.

The best solution to travel in this part of France, if you can afford it, is to hire a car. A small one could well cost less for a week than a two-way taxi fare.

I have a number for an excellent transfer service which I have used to get to Port Grimaud - contact Duncan 0678850802. Recommended and not too expensive.

So Sofia021, I'm interested to have an idea of what "not too expensive" might mean in Euros. The journey from Nice to St Raph costs €8 by train (from memory) and €15 by express coach, and the journey from St Raph to Port Grimaud by the 7601 bus costs €2. Taxis quote €200 and up for the journey to Nice Airport from Ste Maxime (about 5km shorter than from Port Grimaud). What would Duncan quote?
