Frejus beach facilities?

Hi

We are stopping at the esterel eurocamp campsite in a couple of weeks. In their info pack, they said agay beach is closest but coarse sand. For nice sand they recommend frejus beach.

Can anyone tell me what the facilities are like at frejus beach. We will have an 11 month old so would be good to know. In particular, is it possible to hire a parasol without hiring loungers as well? Having shade is essential with the little one but the expense of hiring loungers and parasol every day will get a bit much!

Also, does it have toilets, showers, beach bar? And is parking easy enough? This will be first two weeks in June.

Hope you can help.

Thanks

Hi

Coarse sand in Agay? That's the first I hear of it. The sand is not powder talc fine, but it's fine and it isn't all that different from Fréjus' - it wouldn't warrant a drive to Frejus for sand alone IMHO.

In Agay, you can find shade on the beach under a couple of large parasol pines if you head east to the tip of the beach by the nautical centre and the ice cream parlor/snack. It's very pleasant there. In early June, the crowds should be thin enough for you to be able to find space there (not so in the middle of summer).

Fréjus' beach is a larger stretch of sand with few trees. I think it's worth the expense to buy a small parasol if you're staying for more than a day or two.

Enjoy,

Are you talking about La Baume?

Its a nice site, we're heading back there again this month. The teens will enjoy it. Lots to do, nice pools. Lots of other teens.

Hi,

A solution is for you to buy a parasol especially if you will use it several times. It would be cheaper than renting one.

where would be a good place to buy a parasol around the fejus area?? we will have a car so if there is some place within driving distance we will go there when we arrive and stock up!

we're going to be staying in saint-aygulf which i believe has a nice beach too. are there other ones dotted along the coast with parking??

thanks

There are lots of places in the St Aygulf area where you can buy a parasol. We were there today and it was beautiful, despite a rainy morning.

There are dedicated beach shops but also the larger supermarkets will have them. Even today in the small Casino in Frejus I came across a guy just wandering around with his parasol in his hand.

That whole area between Frejus and St. Tropez has lots of beaches, most of which have free parking. Just be aware of the private beaches ;o)
