Earlier this week I booked flights to paris towards the end of July for work. The nice this is I will have a weekend free that I can go out and explore. I have seen pictures of Parc National Des Calanques and Love the idea of getting out of the city for the weekend and hiking and swimming and soaking up all the beautiful scenery !
I've only been looking into this for a couple days so I am still a bit at a loss. I know I have to book my TGV train tickets ASAP as it's so close to the date. So I'll be taking the train from Paris to Marseille, my question is considering that I am hoping for hiking time, swimming time ( I heard you can kayak too which would be awesome! ) I don't know where I should base myself, in central Marseille? Else where?
Keep in mind I will not have a car and be solely relying in public transport. Also I only have the weekend (wish it were longer but I have to go to back to paris for work) so time is of the essence.
Calanque du Sugiton also looks like it might fit the bill but I am hoping you all might be able to help me pick a location to base myself, let me know if I'll be alright with just public transport, which of the two sights mentioned might be better for me to get to/base myself near.
Also any other insights would be much appreciated!
