15th birthday in St Remy

Our son will celebrate his 15th birthday while we are staying in St Remy (a 6 day stay). Any suggestions for a fun way to celebrate?

Not sure when you will be there but we took our two sons (14 & 11 yrs at the time) to a bull game (not fight) in Arles in October 2007. It was held at the Roman Arena and was fabulous - so much fun and excitement and no blood and gore to be seen. We were packed in like sardines sitting on the ancient stone where the Romans sat 2000 (?) years ago. If you search the Arles forum you will see that there have been a number of recent posts about how to get details of the dates and how to buy tickets. If you are driving get there early in the day to get a car park and allow enough time to tour the town (really nice) before the game, which If I recall correctly was at approx 2.30pm. Cheers SAM

You could visit the Cathedral d'Images at Les Baux. An old bauxite mine, they took out huge blocks of stone, making enormous caves. Each year they present a different visual display in the caves. This year it happens to be Australia. Nearby is Glanum, an ancient Greek and Roman town with a well preserved sacred spring and extensive remains of buildings. Even if not the chosen birthday treat, they are things worth seeing.

Thanks for your quick responses. It seems there is a bull game in Mouries (close to St Remy) on his birthday.

We did the bull games in Nimes this past Sunday. Same deal, the bull is not killed, and we sat in the old Roman arena. Very cool.
