That week is still one of the most expensive weeks. A week later and prices drop considerably.

In terms of schools on holiday you will have the last week of Zone A ( Grenoble, Lyon. Montpellier, Nancy-Metz, Nantes, Rennes, Toulouse, Caen, Clermont-Ferrand) and the first week of Zone C (Bordeaux, Creteil, Versailles and the biggy Paris).

If you go a week later you will only have Zone C.

Good luck

This week is usually the busiest one, as it is Rhône Alpes' holiday zone (Lyon and Grenoble).

If you can arrive on Friday, do it because you will avoid loads of traffic on the road, and skiing on Saturday is very nice : people from the previous week are packing and leaving and other people coming for the following week are still on the road.

The lifts/slopes etc are busier than usual, but not too bad in the morning. It's late morning when the rush begins.

The main prob will be traffic on the roads. We caught the end of the holiday last year and the drive back took nearly twice as long cos we were stuck in the French holiday traffic all going home. Advisable to travel midweek to avoid the most of it.
