Please can anyone advise on trains from Amsterdam central station to paderborn please? Are there any reliable websites for buying in advance or is it best to buy tickets on the day? Thank you.

There are several trains a day.
Check https://www.bahn.com/en/view/index.shtml It's the homepage of Deutsche Bahn. You will find all train connections here and you can also buy long-distance tickets.
If you know that you want to take a specific connection, it'll be better to get the tickets in advance because you will get a saver fare than. But it'll only be valid for your chosen connection.
If you want to be flexible you can also buy your ticket on the day.
That's great thank you ever so much.
Hi thanks again for that. Have now checked out the link and the train I'm looking at says ice. I previously looked at a website think it was the train line and saw that same train as db. Are those different train companies? Do u know if advance tkts are refundable? Thank u ever so much again.
ICE is a family of highspeed trains.
Some of the ICEs on this route are owned by DB (German Rail) others by NS (Dutch Railways). Plays no role for you.
Refund against a service fee (EUR 19) for discounted tickets
The conditions for the (expensive) Flexpreis standard fare tickets are better
Thank u ever so much. Unsure what u mean about the advance ticket do u mean a 19 euro refund if u cancel? Thank u.
The €19 is a cancellation fee. You get a refund minus €19 if you cancel at least 1 day before the trip. After that the ticket is non-refundable.
Different rules apply to flex fare tickets.
