One Way flights to Washington DC

I am trying to plan a trip for this summer, Washington DC to Dublin $244us, Kerry, Ireland ($25us) to Frankfurt, Germany...Anywhere in Germany back to US ~ I've tried Frankfurt and Munich but I am getting outrageous prices anywhere from $1k to $4k! What am I doing wrong? Are there any near by countries that I should try?

You would be best to book a return and waste the return leg. Oneway flights in Europe are very expensive.

You should be able to get reasonable rates for such a triangular trip, if you can't do it on the internet, try a travel agent. Otherwise, fly roundtrip to a destination in Ireland or Germany, and Ryanair will have inexpensive flights to and from places in Ireland to many places in Germany. Just be aware of Ryanair's restrictive policies such as on luggage, and give yourself at least a day between their flights and another airline's in case there are flight problems.

Many thanks, I think we are going to blow off Germany and head for a cheaper leg of our trip, perhaps London, it is such a shame, both my kids take German in school but I'm not going to bust my budget just so they can see a castle.
