Where do you rent a car in germany and is it expensive?
The original question was 2 years ago!
CAUTION : DO NOT RENT FROM AUTOEUROPE & ENTERPRISE !!!! (Liars / fraudsters).
I had grief on 3 occasions with " ENTERPRISE CAR RENTAL" who on both occasions did not have the Audi ( A6 or equivalent) so they "drop" you into a 3 Series BMW or a Pugot / Cars without the NAVI / LUX features a person is paying for. One time getting short handed on a 3wk rental is a hard enough situation to swallow but 6mths latter on a 2wk business trip the same problem/situation. The pay-off is when you bring it up and they return attitude while they do not offer a price reduction for a 10.00Euro/day difference because your booking is NOT A DIRECT reservation. Both times it felt Intentional, something is up. If booking with AUTOEUROPE you do not know which will be the actual rental car company so, HOPE IT'S NOT ENTERPRISE !?!
In Europe "ENTERPRISE CAR RENTAL" hires undesirables and must not offer decent wages to have quality customer service as, i have heard from competitors i use now. ENTERPRISE CAR RENTAL have gone DOWN HILL fast in the past couple years. On two occasions in the past 8mths i used "EURO CAR" to book and ended up with "ENTERPRISE" who also, doesn't tell you there is a *60.00Euros charge for Airport location FEE while they say include Euro road permits when you make your reservation but, No Highway permits are provided for neighboring countries, France, Austria etc as per confirmations. Which by the way, is an additional 200.00Euro ticket 'on the spot ' none of which they wish to reimburse.
Also, a snow brush in winter ??? what the "F" is that ? and you can find them down the highway is the attitude. In fact, Brutal attitude but, what do you expect from a bunch of front-line staff that came into work on a flying carpet or a bus ?
**Do yourself a favor and FORGET both [ AUTOEUROPE & ENTERPRISE ] as they are MASTERS of the SET-UP because they know people are tired, exhausted and would cave into crappy cars paying them higher values. Book direct with AVIS/Hertz/SIXT-BUDGET/etc. (you will be glad you did).
I had very similar VERY BAD experience with Dollar Rent a Car. It checked contract and this CDW insurance was listed as OPTIONAL, this was very misleading to me given their requirement for GOLD MASTER CARD WITH LETTER. I rented via Expedia and received NO help from them. That "great" deal ended being very expensive for me.
I will NOT rent from Dollar in Europe again.
to be honest, I think that you will find it hard to get someone to recommend dollar.
