Help with impute from

As part of our road trip from UK to Crete towards the end of April we have used via michelin to plan the route and will stop at Monschau for our first night but would like some advice on the next part of our journey .

We would like to join the E42/A60 and then head across to somewhere near Bingen as we believe this is one of the most picturesque parts of the Rhine but are not sure where to join the route and which side of the Rhine will be best to travel along. We then want to drive to Heidelberg or nearby for another overnight stay. Would this be too much to fit in for 1 day?

Our alternative would be to miss out Bingen and keep to the motorways towards Kaiserlauten to travel to Heidelberg but feel this would not be as interesting.

We would then like to visit and Tuebingen and Ulm before travelling to Fussen for another night.

Any advice on our itinerary and recommendations of reasonably priced accommodation would be really appreciated.

Motorway A60 still has a gap in the area where you cross the Mosel, where it becomes Federal Road B50. You could therefore also look at places on the Mosel, such as Traben-Trabach.

If you wish to see a small part of the Rhine valley, you could drive B50 to Rheinböllen, close to where it joins A61, then drive through Rheinböllen down to Bacharach on the Rhine. This is one of the most picturesque towns in the area. Oberwesel and St. Goar can also be reached in a few minutes from there.

You could also take A48 or A61 to Koblenz, continue toBoppard and then drive through St. Goar, Oberwesel and Bacharach to Bingen.
