neuschwanstein or bertchesgaden?

Hi we are travelling as a couple and only have 1 full day in munich for either neuschwanstein or bertesgaden in june.

Read that both are around 2h travel from munich by train.

which one is more worth visiting? And will u recommend us to join the day tours companies from Munich or go on our own?

Hohenschwangau village (for Neuschwanstein Castle) is so 2,25 h from Munich. Berchtesgaden so 2,75 h.

DB timetable

Start: München Hbf

Destination: Hohenschwangau, Schwangau (Schlösser)

Destination: Berchtesgaden Hbf

To Lake Königssee and the Jenner cable car you have to add another 20 minutes.

Destination: Königssee Parkplatz, Schönau a. Königssee

You can use for either trip a Bayern Ticket

If you want to use this ticket select as means of transport "only local transport" to be on the safe side.

Berchtesgaden and esp. Lake Königssee have the more impressive Alpine scenery.

Füssen and Neuschwanstein the more famous landmark.

Thank u :)

I may pick berchesgaden now. The views look more magnificent. Also, I may wan to consider going to the eagle nest too. Will it be too tight to go all 3 locations in 1 day?

Do I need to be full trekking gear to go to eagle nest?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
