driving through the Black Forest

My husband and I have 2 days (26,27 Dec) driving from Cochem to Garmisch. We want to go through the Black Forest. Any suggestions on a scenic route? Where to stay over?

Can't give much advice with regards to the scenic route. There are quite a few nice hotels in the area though, one is the "Traube" in Tonbach, the other "Brenners Park Hotel". A good guess would be that you take snow chains with you since the weather can be pretty ugly at that time of year in the Black Forrest region.

A scenic road and not a long way round is the "black-forest high street" (Schwarzwaldhochstrasse) between Baden-Baden and Freudenstadt.

That you'll be in need of snow-chains is highly unlikely, but winter-tires are indispensable.

For accommodation/rewiews:

2 small, reasonable and good hotels in Baden-Baden's old town, near the Friedrichsbad : (though you shouldn't mind church bells)

Rathausgloeckle too has a good restaurant
