I am new to this site and to travelling so I wasn't aware of these things. No need to make me feel silly.

Depending on whether you are using an i-pad, laptop, etc. there is a lot of information about things to see and do in Munich, or any other city if you are on the forum for that city on the right hand side of your screen or look at the green bar on top of your screen if you are using a regular computer. There you will find Things to Do, Restaurants, Tours, etc. On the right hand side, you will find popular questions and answers. If you use the Search function, you can type in anything you are looking for and get those forum answers or listings.

For a single person, whether male or female, it is good to do some kind of walking tour or bike tour your first day. This gets you oriented to the city, shows you where other points of interests may be for you, introduces you to more people, and the guides can answer any questions you will have. Same goes for your question for your visit to Berlin. Check the websites and reviews for tours under the above mentioned listings.

I don't know if this would apply to Jodie H but the Top Question links do not show up on mobile app version of TA.

Jodie - your questions look as if you have not bothered to do the tiniest bit of research yourself about the cities you intend to visit but expect us to plan your entire trip. Sorry we are not a free service agency, this is a forum of volunteers who will happily help with details but will not do your homework.

Jodie H - the discipline on the Munich forum is pretty tough but I think it's for everyone's benefit. Anyway here some things you could do in Munich..

There are lots of world class museums. A selection would include

Alte and Neues Pinakothek (fine art)

Museum of Antiquities

Glyptothek

Deutsches Museum (technology)

BMW

The old town has many charming squares and buildings. Check out the

Marienplatz, Frauenkirche, St Peters Church, New Town Hall

historical beer halls and the food market (Viktualienmarkt)

Odeonplatz, Residenz

Nymphenburg Palace (a little out of town)

Neuschwanstein Castle is a full day trip but certainly worth it.

A lot of people rave about the English Garden but I never saw the point. Also Dachau but it is really depressing.
