Local ferry service on the Danube

is there a regularly scheduled ferry service available from Regensburg to other cities along the Danube, specifically Kellheim?

I think http://www.schifffahrtklinger.de/ might run boats between the Regensburg and Kelheim, although I think it's infrequent.

Wurm & Köck run boat trips from Regensburg, but not to Kelheim. Most of their services don't start until the end of April - early May.

At Kelheim there's kelheim.de/docs/…vorab-fahrplan-2013.pdf. They don't do trips to Regensburg.

Possibly your best bet is to take the train to Saal, then a bus to Kelheim.

If you visit Kelheim after mid-March there is ferry service from/to the Weltenburg Abbey in the Danube Gorge. they have excellent food and beer plus the abbey church is absolutely breathtaking, was built by the Asam brothers back in the 1700's. We were last there during it's restoration in 2005 and we plan to visit again this fall. Ferries from Kelheim operate from mid-March till late October and this little trek is well worth the effort as is the Schneider Weisse brewery in Kelheim.
