Berlin Stag Do

I need to organise a stag do for the 27th-29th April fopr eight people. I've never been to Berlin before but have read/been told that the nightlife is very good.

Can you come up with any suggestions of places to stay, I'm assuming central is best?

Also, I need to come up with a few activities. I was thinking of the Hoppegerten Racecourse as one, anyone been there? And any more suggestions.

Would greatly appreciate any advice.

I recommend that you try to book a hotel/accomodation somewhere in the area around Hackescher Markt and Oranienburger Strasse. Here you have a lot of bars and restaurants very close-by and almost all major sights within walking distance. We stayed with a group of thirteen people at Hotel Mitte Berlin last year and everybody was very happy since it was so well-located and we could just walk out of the hotel and have drinks in very nice bars. These are hotels in that same area:

Arcotel Velvet, Hotel Am Scheunenviertel, Hotel Märkischer Hof, Hotel Augustinenhof, Dietrich Bonhoeffer Haus, Ramada Hotel Berlin Mitte, Lux 11, Hotel Taunus, Hotel Amelie, Hotel Allegra, Hotel Mitte Berlin, Heart of Gold Hostel, and Helter Skelter Hostel.

Have a great stay!

I personally don't like Mitte so much when it comes to bars and restaurants. It's fine for clubs though. For bars and restaurants I prefer Prenzlauer Berg, Friedrichshain, Kreuzberg, Schöneberg and Charlottenburg.

Haven't been to Hoppegarten Racecourse but I personally I'm not so much interested in horse races.

You have the possibility of doing some go karting, there are a couple of places in the suburb who offer it. The Trabi Safari http://www.trabi-safari.de/ might be interesting for you as well. Maybe you'll find some more information on the Insider page tripadvisor.com/Travel-g187323-c20197/Berlin…

You could also check out http://www.teamventure.de/index_home_TVSP.htm , they have a kind of a climbing park ... not sure what it is called in English.

Stag Do's and Hen nights are not a common thing in Berlin therefore you wont find that many activities like you do in the UK.

Been to Hoppegarten a couple of times. very cheap to get in,. 5 euros I think, a good day of hurdle and flat racing, about 10 races the day I went. Plenty of refreshment available and no queues. Good idea for a day out if the weather holds. probably take you about 40 mins from the centre of Berlin.
