Christmas

Hi, myself and a few members of the family are looking into booking to go Berlin over the Christmas period. This would mean being in Germany on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Does anyone know if bars, attractions, restaurants are still open over these 3 days? I know in England we shut early on Xmas day etc. Don't really want to be sat in our hotel room all day if everywhere is shut. Can somebody give me some advice please

Thank you

Many places close on afternoon of 24th, inc restaurants. Transport will be running though. On the 25th museums etc will be open, many more restaurants also and transport works too. Shops will be closed apart from those inside stations

Christmas Eve(24th) is mostly family gatherings. so places close down after lunch. 25th/26th are official holidays, so shops will be closed, but bars/restaurants are open and rather busy. As most Germans take off between the 27th-31st, all shops will be open with sales and really busy

Christmas Eve is on a Sunday this year, so shops won't be open.

It's a good idea to pre-book Christmas eve dinner at one of the big hotels, because most restaurants will be closed.
