Avus Grand Priz circuit

Bout ye, I believe the west german grand prix was held in berlin in 1959 at the avus circuit (2 curves linking 2 bits of autobahn), is this place still in existence, and if it is ,is it worth a detour

Many thanks

Bout Ye

"The round race control tower (with prominent Mercedes-Benz and Bosch sponsorship) still remains at the north end, and is used as a public restaurant and Motel. The old wooden grandstand is protected as a historic monument."

Otherwise you won't see much left from the AVUS days.

It isn't really worth a visit ... the AVUS is nowaday used as a normal motorway and not that exciting to look at.
