where to start

I am arriving 12/28 at Berlin Tegel leaving on 1-4 for Boston- I don't have a map, hotels, hostils, a plan of any kind - 2 (straight) guys coming for New Years Eve. Is there an itinerary you could suggest - want to see as much as possible but want to fun place to go for NYE -don't have much money and maps look really expensive on line

how should we get around?

You probably need to do some research on your own. The transportation system in Berlin is fantastic, so that is how you will get around. Buy a 7 day transit pass. I don't understand what you mean by maps are expensive online. Aren't they free online?? Google map?

You'll need a map! A very small outlay compared to the cost of flying from Boston to Berlin.

The Rough Guide maps are excellent. So is the Rough Guide itself - and you really do need to do your research.

See my response to your post of 2 weeks ago. Nothing's changed since then.
