Taxi with carseat from schoenfeld/lockers in zoo station?

Hi all, me and my boyfriend and 17 month old daughter will shortly be visiting berlin. We're flying into schoenfeld and arriving at 9pm so figured the best way to get from the airport to our apartment in prenzlauer berg would be a taxi. Any recommendations for prebookable taxi companies that would be able to provide a carseat or do taxis in the airport rank have them?

Also are the lockers in zoo station big enough for luggage?

You simply go to the taxi line and ask for a car seat. Or take a train to Alexanderplatz and a taxi from a rank there. There is no sense in searching for something prebookable as these companies are typically much more expensive (aimed at businesspeople on company expenses)

Hi Lizzy

If you're staying in Prenzlauer Berg maybe Hauptbahnhof (Central Station) or Friedrichstrasse Station is more convenient than Zoologischer Garten. If you choose Zoo, though, the lockers are definitely big enough for luggage (lockers come in different sizes, from cabin size to BIG). The potential issue is more if there are any big ones available when you get there, the biggest ones can be occupied (has happened one time, out of 10, to me).

Schonefeld is 18km outside Berlin on the east. Exactly where is your apartment?

The Airport express go's into Central Berlin every 30 minutes, 3.10 Euro's.

Thanks for the replies so far. Our apartment is at Greifenhagener Str. 64. With arriving so late at night (9pm) and having a little one we thought a taxi would be easier, if it was just the two of us we'd definitely use the train.

Our flight home is even later (9pm) so we were planning to store our luggage at Zoo station so we could visit the Berlin zoo and possibly the aquarium aswell during the day then get the train to the airport around 6pm.

Not all but some for sure.

Luggage lockers at the train stations are - big surprise - for the luggage of the rail travelers. Not just for day packs.

Don't think you'll have a problem with lockers at Zoo as long as you get there early, there were loads available last Saturday and Berlin was very busy that day, I only needed a small one but there were loads of big ones. It used to be the main West Berlin train station so it probably has more capacity than is needed these days.
