Berlin Tegel airport to Checkpoint Charlie

Hi all,

My wife and I are scheduled to fly into Berlin Tegel airport late in the afternoon on October 28. We are booked at the Mercure Hotel and Residenz, Checkpoint Charlie -- and are wondering about the most efficient and reasonable way of getting from the airport.

Any help would be appreciated, as it will be our first visit to Berlin.

Cheapest is public transport at just €2.40 each:

- Bus X9 to Ernst-Reuter-Platz, then U2 towards Pankow, getting off at Stadtmitte. From there, it's about 250m.

Or a taxi; say around €25.

Hi Novocastrian1,

Note that there is no direct railway connection into Tegal so bus is the public transport. Check out the hotel websites most have good instructions on how to find them. Alternatively email them with your details and they can confirm best routes. You will love Berlin-the Insider walking tours are fantastic way to familiarise yourself with parts of the city and the history.
