28 Dec - 01 Jan
This was our 2nd Trip to Berlin, so there are a fair few things we managed in Oct'12 when we last visited. We stayed at the Nordic Hotel Berlin Mitte. Clean, comfy, average overall.
Arrived, Headed out for shopping. S Bahn and U Bahn Easiest ways around as well as the tram.
For those looking for anything Rockabilly head to the Crazy Box Store - Lucky 13, Vince Ray and some great items. There's another 2 shops down the same street of the same ilk.
We were too tired (4am from home departure) for partying antics so had a great meal at Cha Cha (Good veggie options, good value) grabbed a beer from a local cafe and had an evening stroll.
Made our own way by train. We did the tour previously which was excellent but knew that we'd missed alot in the museums. Still spent nearly 6 hours incl travel time there. Highly recommended visit.
Dinner at Tiki Heart (Again, great for Rockabilly Fans)
Original Walks in English City Tour, Saw many things we hadn't before. Some awesome history, really personable tour guide. Great for a first visit to get a good feel for the city. Shopping and returned to many of thwe sites visited on the tour for extra time there. Spent the rest of the day on self - walking tour and checking out the sites.
Dinner @ HofBrauhaus - Great vegetarian option. Not a patch on Munich and was cold sitting by the door with a queue of people waiting to get in gawking at you whilst eating wasn't great. Get a sit in the middle/back and you're sorted.
Deutsches Museum - Make sure you have plenty of time- It's huge! Great for rainy days.
Dome Walk @ The Cathedral- Excellent views in lovely setting. Dinner by a lovely Italian opp Museum Insle and Brandeberg gate for NY which was Mental!
Naturkunde Museum, the 'Bombed out church', Airport.
Fantastic City and still so much to see on a second visit :)Edited: 07 January 2014, 15:21
