Schoenfeld Airport to Friedrichstrasse

Hi, what is the best way to do the above journey - one of us is in a wheelchair and I'm his helper.

Thanks in advance

To Friedrichstrasse train station: train. But Friedrichstrasse street is not the shortest one.

From what I remember, the platforms in the Shonefeld train station are accessible by long stairs.

There may have been an elevator that I missed.

I don't think you've missed an elevator, unless there is a hidden one available only to wheelchair users.

Langdonseagull, you'll need to check this. Abalada may know, but it could be that you will have to take a taxi.

From what I've seen, many U stations as well, if not most, have only hard stairs, and sometimes an elevator.

At Schönefeld Airport station, there are ramps to and from the lower leve and the plaformsl. Comfortable with a wheelchair. When the new aiport eventually opens (hopefully in my lifetime), I am sure that the facilities for those with a disability will be outstanding.

S-Bahn and U-Bahn network map for Berlin shows by a symbol (black on yellow background) if a station as a lift of ramps.

BVG barrier free journey planer knows of course about these facilities.

Pericoloso, I'm not at all sure that pushing a wheelchair up those long ramps would be a comfortable experience, and there will be luggage to cope with as well. I find it challenging enough to drag a couple of rolling cases up them.

Yes, let's hope that the new airport opens within our lifetimes.
