Best location for Christmas in Berlin?

Hi there-

Am hoping people might be able to recommend an area in Berlin (or even some specific hotels would be great!) for spending Christmas - so somewhere that will be close to the festivities and action, whilst still being in a good position to see the cultural highlights during the day.

Hoping to spend around £50 per night for a double room.

Thanks in advance, looking forward to your replies!

You'll find Christmas markets all over the city and most of them in Central Berlin so it doesn't really matter where in Central Berlin you'll stay. Most sights are found in Mitte. Anyway, Berlin has a pretty good and efficient public transport system so it will never take you long getting anywhere wherever you stay in Central Berlin. The city itself is quite widespread so you might even use public transport when staying in Mitte.

I personally can't really recommend a hotel but friends of ours stayed at the following places in the Ku'Damm area and liked it

www.hotel-gates.com

www.hotelbregenz-berlin.de

www.pension-peters-berlin.de
