The lower level of the Frankfurt level is like an underground city. All kinds of shopping, groceries, bakeries, stores. It is a major commute hub.

Also, if you decide to clear the secure area and cross the walking bridge toward the Sheraton, there is a large area there for shopping and dining. Please keep in mind, when you return from here, you will have to clear security again, before reentering.

Hi queeni_travel. You seem to know this airport well. Are these stores interesting duty free? Like furla, gucci, longchamps, valentino? or standard cosmetic, hudson news...like we have here.

And do you have any suggestions for the five hour layover?

Thanks.

www.frankfurt-airport.com

This is a most helpful website about the airport. The shopping was excellent the last time we flew through there. The facilities and services are outstanding.

If you decide to get out, there is a walking bridge, inside the main building, that leads over to the Sheraton Hotel. Nice lobby and there are several Pubs on that side as well.
