Messe Frankfurt

Hi,

I'm attending a trade fair in June in the Messe Frankfurt I'm flying into Frankfurt international airport with Aerlingus from Dublin and was wondering could someone recommend a hotel located close to the Messe Frankfurt or the airport. Is it easy to get into to the city centre from the airport if one wanted to head in for an evening?

Thanks

If it is a big Messe then you might get a shock at the hotel prices! From the airport it is an easy trip into town. You could also consider Darmstadt or Wiesbaden /Mainz

Have a look at www.hrs.com just make sure the hotel has train connections

Possible hotel's in Darmstadt Maritaim (two locations)

In Griesheim (near Darmstadt) Hotel Notenagel might have a vacancy. You will also get the freshest and tastiest breads for breakfast.

Which fair is it? If it isn't a big fair, then the hotel prices aren't bad. The ones at the airport will be the most expensive, plus you will need train fare back and forth. There are a lot of so called "airport hotels" that actually need a shuttle to get to them, and you may end up waiting an hour on the shuttle, or if you just missed it, at least another 20 min. Only the Sheraton and the 2 Hiltons are at the airport itself. The Steigenberger has the most frequent shuttles.

If at all possible, stay in the city. Public transportation is easy and fast and much of Frankfurt is walkable, including walking to the Messe from many locations.

The suggestions from the lady living in Frankfurt, are good as far as they go.....

Frankfurt is not an inexpensive city. Frankfurt will be very busy with most large exhibitions. Expect that in most restaurants and hotels you will be processed rather than served. I have generally found it difficult to get value for money anywhere near the city center when major fairs are taking place.

Yes, public transportation is very good. One of the reasons why Darmstadt & Griesheim could be recommended.

You didn't mention if you're going as an exhibitor or a buyer. If you are buying, purchase an entry ticket for all of the days. It is a great savings. Alternatively, perhaps one of your suppliers will give you free entry tickets.
