Train travel from Berlin to Schwerin

Hi Guys,

We are flying into Berlin in August and would like to travel to Schwerin by train if possible. Do anybody know if this is a good/possible way to travel there if you are not familiar with the country (it is our first trip to Germany) we would like to see as much of the country as we can as we only have 5 days. We would like to the go on to Hamburg in the same way. The other idea is hiring a car but didn't really want to have to drive.

Also if anyone could recommend a good hotel/guest house in Berlin and hamburg I would be grateful.

Thanks guys

DB timetable

From: Berlin

To: Schwerin

To: Hamburg

If you just give the city names, the timetable will choose automatically the main train stations for you. You can give however any train station, bus stop or whatever. You can even search on address level.

Travelling by train is a great way to see Germany and it is easy to get to Schwerin from Berlin or Hamburg. Note that the travel time from Hamburg to Schwerin is about one hour less than visiting from Berlin. I'd take that extra time when going from Hamburg and stop in Lubeck on my way back to Hamburg.
