Transportation Times on a Sunday??

My friend and I are traveling to cologne for five days on the 31st October, and are going to a concert at the cologne stadium on a Sunday night. Obviously it will be late finishing, so we are wondering as to what transport we could take back to our hotel in the city centre, if there's anything still open? If not, are is there a taxi system, and would it be expensive? I am almost fluent in German so it wouldn't be a big problem.. you can probably tell we're only from a small town, not familiar with the transportation systems in cities! Any advice would be appreciated, thank you!!

You can research your connection on www.vrsinfo.de, and I'm pretty sure that the last subway or tram will depart after midnight. Usually, there are also night buses or night trams. And of course there are taxis in any major city, but these should be a last resort, as they are very expensive.

Just enter the address of the stadium and the address of your hotel in the search fields and the website should find your connection.

Rheinenergie-Stadion or the LANXESS-Arena? From the latter you can also walk back to the city center.

Sure. With the Rheinenergie-Stadion they will even throw some extra capacity on the tracks to meet the demand.

That a certain percentage of all guests at these venue places will use public transport is essential as they don't have parking for all guests. Without this they would loose their license for big venues or there would be capacity restrictions imposed. Thus with all big events in Germany you can take for granted that you can go there and back by public transport.

.

You can check connections using the VRS timetable

Or do you mean "E- Werk" and the "Editors"?

But probably you are talking about the Lanxess Arena and it´s very easily reachable, as abalada told you.

Usually on a Sunday the last tram are going till after 1pm, however the 1st November is a public holiday, so the trams will be available all night (every 30 minutes between 1am and 6am).
