Weihnachtsmarkt Express, the Christmas market tram

This is certainly a convenient, and cute, way to get from market to market in Cologne. We boarded the "train" right next to the TI, adjacent to the Dom.

Some drawbacks: the ride can be extremely bumpy since the cars seem to have no springs. Too, we were stranded at the Angel's market (Neumarkt) when the tram folks had packed up shop with about 1 1/2 to 2 hours of market time left. And they don't stop at the Rudolfplatz "fairy tale" market at all.

Enjoy your time at the markets!

IMO it´s much more advisable to walk from one Christmas Market to the next, so you can get e a better feeling for the atmosphere, the areas, ASO. But of course it´s a matter of taste and perhaps a nice alternative to take the train.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed it on the whole:-)!

Rudolfplatz market and Christmas Avenue are nothing to shout about IMO, so you missed nothing. Glad you had a good time, we do it every Christmas and never regret it. Wild horses would not get me on that train. I'd rather walk.
