I have one day to stay in Dusseldorf. What and where to go?

So, I have one day in Dusseldorf. I might probably be alone, I don't know if other people will join me.

What should I do? Where should I go?

I am a student, so I don't have a lot of money, so can you suggest me where to eat, where to sleep for the lowest price.

Thank You!

Go to the Christmas Markets. Walk Altstadt and have Alt beer at Uerigeor anywhere. Look under vacation rentals for low cost apartment or for low cost hotel Am Spichernplatz.

Eat at any brewpub. Google brewpubs!

Yes, you'll find plenty of food and drinking options in Altstadt - also for pretty cheap prices (with reasonable quality).

For hotels/hostels: Have you tried the A&O hostel Duesseldorf? They are pretty good and not expensive: http://www.aohostels.com/en/duesseldorf/

Great idea on AO Hostel Andie. I was not familiar with them. Looks good.
