How to travel to/from Münster?

Hi! My friends and I will be visiting münster from 11/05 to 02/06 this year. We are planning to fly to schipol airport, amsterdam then take a train to münster (we were told this was the best way). Where can i look for train tickets other than bahn.de? and are there any other way there as the train tickets are rather pricey for us (cause we're still students!)

After visiting münster, we are planning to go to Paris. How can we travel there? I tried bahn.de and they told me that prices were unavailable. Where else can I try? and are there any other means of transport?

THANKS!! ^^

Best airport with intercontinental flights is Düsseldorf Airport (DUS). Düsseldorf is like Münster in the German Federal State North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). Albeit Amsterdam is an OK option.

.

DB timetable

http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en

Start: Schiphol (Airport)

Destination: Münster(Westf)Hbf

.

Use the route via Enschede. Buy train tickets (Amsterdam) Schipol Airport to Enschede. EUR 21,30 per person. Buy in Enschede a "9 Uhr Gruppenticket" (9am mini group day ticket) which is EUR 31,50 and good for up to 5 persons travelling together.

www.vgm-vrl.de/home/index.php…

From Enschede to Münster the Münsterland tariff applies. Münsterland tariff tickets cover all local public transport: regional trains + buses.

Münster bus network (day time till 9pm)

.

There is a similar mini group day ticket covering all local public transport in North Rhine-Westphalia. SchönerTagTicket NRW EUR 37,50. Again valid

Mo-Fr: from 9am till 3am next day

Sa,Su: from midnight till 3am next day

If you plan trips with the DB timetable using the Münsterland tariff or the NRW tariff select as means of transport "only local transport".

Paris - the ultimate budget destination for poor students?

There are the Thalys high speed trains connecting Cologne with Paris. You can use the above mentioned SchönerTagTicket NRW to get to Cologne. For the rest check with

http://www.thalys.com

.

There is also a bus from Münster (dep. 19:30) to Paris (arr 06:00 next day) which is EUR 39 pp if bought in advance.
