The Tagesticket Deluxe, Preisstufe (price level) 2, is a discounted daypass by agreement with the VRT (local Trier transit authority) and Luxembourg that gets you from Trier to anywhere in Luxembourg and back on trains or buses. It's 10.80€ and is sold at VRT ticket machines at the Trier station.

www.vrt-info.de/uebergangstarif-luxemburg.php (in German.)

You can find itineraries at the German National Railways website:

http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en

Use the same site to find trips to Bernkastel and Cochem, Mosel river outings you'll enjoy. The Rheinland-Pfalz ticket (another daypass) gets you to these places economically:

The Tagesticket Delux for Luxembourg: from a VRT ticket machine at the Trier station. Not sure, but the VRT machines are likely in German and require cash.

The Rheinland-Pfalz ticket: from either the VRT or the DB (German railways) ticket machine (English language interface, credit cards OK) at the Trier station.

Only one question, the Sunday 24th June we would do, Trier-Koblenz and visit this city and Koblenz-Bonn in the afternoon, do we need two tickets?

No. You can do this trip on a Rheinland-Pfalz Ticket (see last link in answer #1). But note that the Rheinland-Pfalz Ticket covers only the regional trains to Bonn, not the trams and buses in Bonn. While in Trier and Koblenz the buses are covered.

Thanks for your anserw.

I'm reading about your opcions and I have one doubt more, I want do do a cruise from Trier to Bernkastel but it's expensive, 30 euros pp, there is bus or train direct, I don't have found it. Or are there other boat companies cheaper?

My itinerari is:

1st day: Trier

2nd day: Luxemburg+Hamm (american cemetery)

3rd day: Cochem

4t day: Bernkastel

Thanks for your answer.

> 30 euros pp

That's the return price. One way is EUR 24,00.

> there is bus or train direct, I don't have found it.

DB timetable

http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en

Start: Trier Hbf

Destination: Kues Forum, Bernnkastel-Kues

Kues Forum is the main bus stop of Bernkastel-Kues. Just across the Moselle from Bernkastel. There are no trains anymore to Bernkastel. There are a few direct buses, but the combination train + bus is faster.

> Or are there other boat companies cheaper?

Not on this route to my knowledge. Bernkastel-Kues based is this one

mosel-personenschifffahrt.de/index_gb.html

Bernkastel-Kues to Traben-Trarbach is a 2 hours trip and costs EUR 13,00. Thus comparable to the EUR 24,00 for the 4,25 hours from Trier to Bernkastel-Kues.

> After that I'll visit Koblenz and Bonn.

The question is anyway if such a long boat trip + Bernkastel + Koblenz + Bonn is not way too much for one day. Do you want even to return same day to Trier?

Thanks for your answer. I won't visit Bernkastel, Koblenz and Bonn in only one day, I'll visit there after that and I'll spend two days.
