Lodging in Dresden - Sep. 30

We (2) are looking for lodging in Dresden on Sep. 30, but everything seems to be booked. Does anyone have suggestions for a room closer than 50km away?

HRS shows availability for 2 hotels (Hilton & Elbflorenz) in Dresden. Try

http://www.hrs.de

But there're 2 fairs (fire department / emergency rescue) at that weekend, so availability can change.

Tu 3rd October is also a public holiday. Thus many will take Monday off and go for a long weekend trip.

I have no idea re availability, but we just returned from Dresden where we stayed at the Pension Kaubler.

It was our favorite lodging on our 2,5 week trip to various places in Germany.

very clean

very friendly

excellent breakfast

one downside to some people:

Its out by the technical university, so is a fair walk to downtown (15 - 20 minutes to the rail station and an equal amount to the riverfront. We love walking, so it wasn't a problem. But for some, it means frequent bus (or auto or taxi) commutes. Bus service is good.
