Ronda to Granada

We are going to be spending 2 days/2 nights in Ronda in June at the parador there, and our plan calls for us to drive to Granada one day to see the Alhambra. I thought it was only about an hour away but now I read something that indicated it's more like 3 hours, which would make going back and forth somewhat problematic. Does anyone have any personal experience on this particular journey? Thanks so much!!

Yes, we've done it a few times, but not as a day trip. The drive will take you a little over 2-1/2 hours unless you stop somewhere along the way. We usually don't take a direct route, opting to stop for lunch somewhere along the way. You would be better off following the route of the white villages, with stop for lunch to enjoy the view. Besides, you need to set up reservations ahead of time in order to visit the Alhambra.

Hello dkeppler,

RONDA..

GRANADA w3.grupobbva.com/ALHAMBRA/alhambra/home.htm HOSTALES http://www.hostals.com/es/es.gr.html

Both Ronda and La Alhambra are worth seing and the route in between is another tourtist attraction all by itself. This should not be rushed but enjoyed as you go along, stopping along the way.

Please make your reservations early so as to throughly enjoy all that the Alhamabra has to offer. This is one of the Spains most cultural and enjoyable attractions and is worth going back to as many times as posible. It is a magical and mystical place.

ENJOY!
