10 Day Spain Itenrary Suggestion

Hi All

My husband and I will be heading down to Spain for 10 days. We will be landing in Madrid and then leaving from Barcelona. Would be please be so kind to suggest an itenrary? We also would love to have a one/two day beach time but not sure how to incorporate that into our plan and at what point. If you've been Spain and done a similar itinerary, I'd greatly appreciate the help!!

Thank you so much :)

Suggestion:

1. Five nights in Madrid with one day trip to Toledo, another to Segovia, and another to Cordoba. Read the top questions in the Madrid forum for these day trips.

2. Take the AVE to Barcelona. Read Buying Renfe Tickets Online.

3. Spend the rest of the time in Barcelona.

Benny is right. You could do 4 nights in Madrid, 4 in Barcelona, and one or two on the Costa Brava for beach time, someplace like Begur. Tarragona is also good for a night if you like Roman ruins, (not on the Costa Brava, south of Barcelona).
