Barcelona to Portugal - where to go? (1 week)

The plan is to visit Spain and Portugal in two weeks, and I definitely don't want to miss Barcelona.

If we make our way to Portugal - what's some must-sees along the way? We don't want to jump around too much, day trips with major stops along the way is ideal.

Mid to late February then I would try to head to southern Spain rather than the northern half as climate will be better. So you could look at Valencia by train then Madrid then maybe you can train down directly to Seville and hire a car for several days in Andalucia if the weather holds out which it should do you can expect some blue skies and good days for sightseeing. If you do not want too much jumping around as you say then consider looking for bargain AVE train fares from Barcelona to Seville ? For example I can see a P for PROMO fare at €35 which is cheap and takes about 5 1/2 hours on the afternoon AVE ...from city centre to city centre. PROMO fares however do not allow any refunds nor allow you to select seats! LOL But there are other tickets. Some more info about buying Spanish RENFE rail tickets here

At Seville you can opt to visit Cadiz in the south on the coast. A city with loads of history and easily reached as a day trip from Seville ?

Had you considered visiting the other cities in Andalucia like Cordoba and Granada ? Maybe from Malaga you can fly to Lisbon to save time ?
