Recommendations for Spain beach area

Hi,

I'll be travelling from Marrakech in early June and would like to know which beachy areas are best (and also easy enough to get to from Marrakech- happy to fly if there are reasonable flight options) for a group of 4 females (mid 30s) looking for a great area to chill out after a couple of weeks playing tourist? Somewhere with a few restaurants, bars, enough facilities but not over-crowded (probably nowhere a cruise ship docks).

We would likely fly out of Barcelona or Madrid at the end so we'll also need to think about how to get there afterwards as well.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated - thank you!

Kyliemc:

Torremolinos on the Costa del Sol has good beaches, plenty of inexpensive fish restaurants on the beach, and plenty of nightlife. Malaga Airport is nearby and this is the biggest airport in Andalusia, with many flights from other countries.

From Malaga to Barcelona or Madrid, Vueling has low cost flights and is a good airline.

From Torremolinos you can do day trips to Malaga and Ronda, as well as Mijas. Ronda and Mijas are beautiful white towns.

The Costa del Sol has the best weather in continental Spain.

The journey to mainland Europe from Marrakech is your first decision presumably. Where to fly to from Marrakech or even take a train and ferry across the Straits of Gibraltar.

You can fly direct to Barcelona using Vueling on a few days each week and from landing at Barcelona you can head for one of the nice seaside resorts along the Costa Brava. Then it is easy to reach Barcelona for next flight.

Or the biggest budget airline in Europe RYANAIR has flight to Girona which is north of Barcelona and maybe easier to reach beach resorts like Roses or L Estartit . But I have not been to this coast for a number of years so you will need to explore more. tripadvisor.co.uk/Tourism-g644326-L_Estartit…

If you choose the train to Tangiers and then a ferry to Spain you should allow an entire day to accomplish this. You can take an overnight train and reserve a 4 berth compartment. Check with Marrakech Forum. If you arrive at Tarifa port then somewhere along this coast may suit. The town is quite quaint and popular with wind surfers etc - this is the windsurf capital of southern Spain. The other port where ferries land is at Algeciras which is easier for moving along the Costa del Sol.

Also search for other destinations from Marrakech airport in Spain ? Like Valencia and find an off the beaten beach resort near to Valencia? It seems that RYANAIR may have flights after 1st April? Valencia to either Madrid or Barcelona is easy by train.
