Surfing and horse riding with young family

Hi

We are looking to possibly invest in a holiday home but initially want to find the right place! After looking at the prices of holidays during the school holidays, it has led us to consider a holiday home. We are a young family in England but looking for somewhere to go year round. We would like to have good surf on our doorstep but also horseriding for myself and children.

We want somewhere where we could go to for a week / weekend

We are also considering Portugal as its an obvious place for surfing and its mild climate. We don't want anything too touristy but would like somewhere where I would feel comfortable going with the children during the school holidays.

We want somewhere not too far from the airport.

Any suggestions welcome, within a 3 hour flight from the UK.

Many Thanks!

Fellowes:

For surfing, a good place in Andalusia is Tarifa. However it has strong winds all the time and is quite far from Malaga Airport, the largest airport in Andalusia.

We have no surf in the Costa del Sol, but we have the best climate in Spain and plenty of sunshine all year. We have thousands of northern Europeans who come here in autumn and spend the cold months here, to bask in the sun. Malaga Airport has many direct flights from many UK cities and is easy to get to.
