Advice On Spain From Paris

In May a friend and I are travelling from Paris to Spain. We are looking to go to Barcelona, Madrid, and Seville. We are leaving Paris on the 25th/26th and have a flight from Barcelona to Toronto on June 6th. What is our bets route/travel plan to see all 3 cities?

We Will have Eurail pass...but could buy flights if necessary.

Visit Madrid and Seville before Barcelona.

From Madrid to Seville, take the AVE.

A good hotel in Seville is the Hotel Becquer, walkable to most sights. I stay there all the time.

You can take the AVE to Barcelona or fly Vueling.

In Madrid you can do a day trip to Toledo and another to Segovia. Read the top questions of the Madrid forum for these day trips.

I would do a plane Paris-Seville, and then seville-madrid by AVE train and madrid-barcelona by AVE train as well.

There is also the new high-speed service between Paris and Barcelona that you could use; trains take 6h20. Then you could travel Barcelona-Madrid and Madrid-Sevilla by train. Sevilla-Barcelona you have the choice of train or flying.

It is perfectly possible to do Paris - Madrid by train in one day if you wanted your Barcelona time at the end of the trip.

I too would buy individual tickets as far ahead as possible, rather than using a Eurail pass and paying reservations/supplements and hoping the quotas haven't run out (reservations and supplements are included in the price of ordinary tickets).

No-one has mentioned 'The Man in Seat 61' website yet. It's a treasure trove of information about travelling in Europe by train
