Good information. I think that the beautiful patios can be seen at any season.

Cordoba organizes their patios better than any other city in Spain.

Thanks, Benny... That's to say a lot... hahahaha...I think that other Spanish cities have beautiful patios, too.

Cordoba's patios are outstanding not only for their beauty... They summarize and symbolize a way of community living. That is (at least for me) their real value.

Hi there. We plan to come to Cordoba during this time but don't understand what you mean by "patios" :) Is it gardens?

Hi there, you too!

By 'patios' we mean 'courtyards', a space in the middle of the typical Andalucia house. Its origin is Roman, being perfectioned by the Arabic Civilization (Al-Andalus)

Designed to cool the houses -remember, our problem is summer, not winter...;) , to have plants and to give intimate comfort and pleasure.

Hola ati!

Thanks so much for sharing. This is certainly not the scene I'm getting from my kitchen windows today, lol.

The patios of Al-Andalus... they are magnificent!

I have already seen most of Andalusia, including big and small towns. I still think that Cordoba has the most beautiful patios.

The Patio Festival in Cordoba in May is one of the most enjoyable festivals a tourist can see in Spain. It is very colorful and seeing all the flowers in the potted plants is overwhelming!

Thank you for the link Ati

I was last May in the Patios festival. Unfortunately it was raining the whole day so could enjoy them as much as I would have liked.

Discovered these beautiful patios when I was living in Cordoba for just over a year when I was young and really loved them

Here are some pictures if anyone wants to have a look:
