A Couple of Questions for Itinerary

We will be in Cordoba for 2 nights, in mid-October of this year, giving us about a day and half to spend in the city. I have been doing research and have noted all of the major sites we should visit: the Mezquita (of course), Alacazar de los Reyes Cristianos, Roman bridge, Viana Palace, and possibly Madinat Al-Zahra. We would love to visit Almodovar Castle, but that doesn’t seem like it would be easy without a car and I’m not sure we’d really have the time. We’re also planning to just wander in the Jewish Quarter.

My questions:

Have I missed anything that we really should do?

In the evening, what areas are best for strolling – stopping at some tapas bars and just taking in the atmosphere? (we’re looking forward to taking in Cordoba in the evening, when the day-trippers have left)

Thanks in advance for any information and recommendations.

Hi!

I find your itinerary perfect. You are going to visit the main sights, so it's absolutely OK.

A 'new' area to explore (dining and drinks) is the riverside (La Ribera): Sojo Fusion, La Taberna del Rio, Burlesque or Amarre are perfect for a drink or meal. great ambiance and lovely views.

You could enjoy the bars and restaurants going up San Fernando (La Feria) st.

La Corredera sq is great, too.

Deb:

You need a car to visit the Almodovar Castle. This website does not mention any public transportation.

I guess I will double check with the TI when we get to Cordoba to confirm there is no public transportation. In some of the reviews here on TA, it sounds like some people have walked. Maybe we can take a taxi for reasonable price, if we decide to visit. It's only on our "maybe" list, if we have time.
