Patio Festival logistics - tickets needed?

we have planned a trip to southern Spain this May that was going to miss Cordoba, but at the last minute extended it by a day when we realized we could see the Patio festival. In the course of research, I found this (unofficial) website that says that tickets are needed:

spain-holiday.com/Cordoba-city/articles/cord…

I haven't seen this information anywhere else - is it true tickets are needed? The website that they are allegedly available from does not seem to be active yet:

http://www.entradaspatioscordoba.com/

Regardless of whether tickets are needed, is there a particular area/neighborhood we should focus on since we only have one day? I have seen a 2013 map showing six different "routes" and assume there will be something similar for 2014 as the dates get closer.

Thanks very much.

Please, stay tuned for the web that the Town Council will launch, regarding Patios tickets and bookings.

Last year they were necessary and this year will be, too.

Why not trying to visit the last year's winner and its route?

I am hoping to visit during the festival and am keeping an eye on the official schedule which in Spain always seems to be published very close to the event and not well in advance for those traveling long distances for hotel and planning purposes.

I looks like the area to head for based on last year's awards for the friendly competition is up in the Regina Magdalena zone near the Plaza de Colon. There should be a few patios to visit in this area. Before heading down towards the river.

Am looking forward to getting my pelargonium fix ! .

What are the dates for this? We will be in the area in may and have allotted a day in Cordoba but maybe two days may be a good idea!

Yesterday the Town Council tourism responsible announced a new attraction related to the patios: 'La Siesta en los Patios': chance to nap, have a coffee, a rest... in three patios: Orive Palace, Rey Heredia and Zoco (they do not belong to the private ones)

We will stay tuned. =)

They have declared as well that the tickets would be available at the patios' doors (and of course, in the web that will be launched soon)

I have always loved the window flower boxes in Germany and it was lovely to find out about this community spirited event in Cordoba, definitely on my wishlist....
