Malaga or Nerja?

Hi. I am a single female in her late 20's and I was wondering which place would be better for me to travel to this summer on a language program. I hear that Malaga can be very young, but Nerja has been posted for "an older crowd." Any imput? I don't want to ONLY be around college kids, or around only families or retired people. Trying to figure out which place would suite me more. Looking for a fun time, wanna explore, meet nice people and really see what Sapin has to offer.

Thanks

It's impossible to compare both places as Malaga is a large vibrant city, the 5th biggest in Spain, with all the facilities & infrastructure (university etc) that you'd expect from a place of its size.Nerja is a tourist resort with a population of less than 20000,quite a few of whom are ex-pats from other countries who have moved to or retired there. In the summer months the population would increase dramatically with tourists. You can check them both out on the websites below

malaga ... i think that malaga is better ... there are more people, more places, more activites ... for example, if you come to a lenguage program ... if you need a library, in malaga there are a lot of library, but in nerja there is only one.

if you want visit some places ... you can go by train, bus, ... that you have to take in malaga.

so ... i prefer malaga ... but i have to say something ... i prefer the beaches of nerja ... bye

When you say you've heard that "Malaga can be very young" you are probably confusing it with the resorts nearby. Malaga is a very beautiful working Spanish city. Another advantage to staying in Malaga is that the transport links are very good from there, so if you decide to explore more of Andalucia, it is easily done.

Malaga City would give you a wonderful cultural experience - and the ideal place to both study and use the language.

Great shopping + eating too!

Would definitely suggest Malaga.

I'm too am a female in my early 20's and also going to do a language programme in malaga this summer. I have been to nerja many times and I love it but I feel malga could offer more in ways of meeting people, night life etc. Please tell me if you find a good cheap language school in malga with reliable accomodation! I have found a school (AIFP) which is only 598 euros for a month course and accomodation (double room in shared apartment) but i'm worried the accomadation won't be too good!
