This happens every year as soon as the British schools break up and the main holiday season starts, it's why I always advise people not to take a car onto Gib.

I work at childline 2 nights a month and never take the car over the border. It is too risky coming out. At least I know 15 mins walk back from work I am there.

We visited Gibraltar and, thankfully, heeded the warnings about driving across the border so we parked a 5 minute walk away for about 4 or 5 euros and walked........glad we did judging by the queues which were no where near as bad as the recent issues
