I'd say the train, its quicker and I believe its cheaper too.
There have been quite a few threads on this subject and the general opinion is that the greater frequency and reliability of the trains, plus also the fact that they are significantly cheaper, makes the train the best option these days.
The Cercanias train runs every 30 minutes to the Maria Zambrano Station, adjacent to the bus station.
Benny, the trains have been every 20mins for 2 years now. renfe.com/EN/…index.html
Would it be better to get the bus if you wanted to go to Calle Larios?
Not really unless you have mobility issues, the train terminates at Centro-Álameda, and Larios is only a short walk along the Álameda from there. Plenty to see and pop into along the way anyway, not least Atarazanas Market and the Antigua Guardia!
Thank you. Got the bus before so maybe I'll try the train this time.
The trains are much quicker and more reliable (they don't get caught in traffic), it's only 8 minutes to Maria Zambrano and 10 mins to Centro.
Also they are more frequent (every 20 mins) and signifcantly cheaper than the so-called 'express' buses ( €1.75 v €3.00 ).
Will definitely give it a go when we come back in April. Thank you!
If I had luggage and going to the calle larios area would take the bus. However, for the bus station and nerja the train every time.
