Good day trips from Malaga city without a car

As in the title really! We're a quiet couple, we like nice views, pretty places, nature, and good food and drink! Anywhere that might fit the bill a reasonable train/coach ride from Malaga?

Have a look at the right hand side Top Questions under "Day Trips" - Ones not to miss imo are:

Ronda

Cordoba

Sevilla

Lake Vinuela (as it's local and pretty)

Depends when you're coming and how long you have :)

Fuengirola zoo and/or Mijas. There is currently train/entry combo ticket for 14.70€ and then an easy bus ride to Mijas from Fuengirola then bus back to Malaga.

Nerja is a lovely place to go and, if you catch the direct bus, is only an hour away from Malaga. It has a lovely old town, great views from the Balcon and the many beaches, with a wide choice of eating places.

No. 1 is Ronda. Hemingway said it was the most romantic town in Spain.

Nerja sits on a cliff and has beautiful views of the sea and mountains.

I LOVED Ronda. Go there.

I'd go back there in a heartbeat. Beautiful scenery, lovely town and a lovely drive there too.

Day trips in Top Questions >>>>>>

Not sure what you want from your 'reasonable train/coach ride' but Antequera is an hour each way by bus.

Cordoba about the same by train.

Hi

Just been to Seville, Cordoba and Ronda all by train from Malaga. The trains are reasonable (our journeys were all around the €20 mark) and all go from - Malaga María Zambrano. You can get to Cordoba and Seville direct but you would have to change at Bobadilla for Seville. They all take between 90 mins and 120 mins each way so it would take a fair chunk out of your day for a day trip. You could stay over fairly reasonably in Cordoba and Seville - Ronda is more expensive to stay in. The other trip that you might like is Granada which is accessible by bus (bus station opposite the train station in Malaga) it takes about 90 mins to Granada and approx €13 each way.

I agree about Ronda, Antequera, Nerja, and others being easy and great day trips from Málaga.

Seville I'm hesitant, since while it is definitely doable being barely two hours away, it is just too big and has too much to see and do for a day trip. You might be frustrated with a few hours there.

I visited Granada on a day trip from Malaga. It takes 1h45 by ALSA bus (return fare just under €30 per person).
