Marbella to Ronda

Hi

Three of us will be in Marbella for 1 week and would like to visit Ronda. We have a hire car.

Would it make more sense to drive or to take the bus? Is it easy to park in Ronda?

Where in Marbella would we take the bus from? What is the cost of a return ticket? Is there a regular bus service?

I have looked on old posts on the forum but none of the bus schedule links work (The Avanza website allows you to start from Marbella but Ronda is not available as a destination). All tips welcome

We always drive up to Ronda, the roads are windy but the views are stunning. Parking can be a problem, but there is an underground car park in the middle of the town (can be a bit difficult to find (we found it by accident the 2nd time we went there!). However, it is well worth the drive up there.

If you prefer, you can easily take the bus, and everyone can enjoy the scenery. If you take the car, the driver will be far too busy concentrating on the twisty, climbing (slightlly hair raising) road to even think about looking at the view!

There is a regular service departing from Marbella bus station. You can easily see the timetable to Ronda here - avanzabus.com/web/archivos/base/File/Horario…

I'd suggest catching the first bus and returning on the last one, at 8.00pm, as there is a lot to see in one day.

Good answers. I presume the A397 road is better than the A369/A377 roads to go south?????

Is Ronda busy all days, or just more so at the weekend?

Its a working town as well as a tourist attraction and it is fairly busy most days, we've been on different days (although never on a weekend). Don't let that put you off going, its a fantastic place.
