Marabella or Malaga

We will be spending a night in the area in late March and would like to enjoy beaches and ocean.

Not sure what would be the better choice? Marabella or Malaga. I'm having trouble find a nice hotel on the beach in Malaga. Suggestions?

Where are you travelling from and to? Malaga city doesn't really doesn't have any decent beach-side hotels, although in nearby La Carihuela you have the Amaragua and the Pez Espada:

We will be spending 2 nights in Granada and then driving to either Marabella or Malaga and then continuing on to Seville via Ronda.

In Malaga, the Hotel MS Maestranza is one block away from the Malagueta Beach.

If all you want to do is lounging on the beach (which may be troublesome in March due to rain/wind) then go to Marbella, there are far nicer beach hotels there than in Málaga.

If you want to have a nice walk on the beach and maybe a couple of hours of sunbathing, there are some options in Málaga city itself such as the hotel mentioned by Benny, the Vincci Málaga on C/ Pacífico, or the Parador de Golf near Torremolinos. The nicest beaches and beach hotels are in Torremolinos as also mentioned above by NSG.

Please note that all hotels in Málaga are urban style hotels - Málaga city is not a beach destination and you shouldn't expect it to be. It is much more similar to Granada or Seville in that regard.

Hi. This query and your response is applicable to us as well. In April, we'll also be driving from Granada and want to spend 3 nights in Marbella, before heading to Seville. Can't decide whether we should make our base in the old town of Marbella or a resort on the beach (for instance Marriott). We will have our car and want to drive around also (visit Ronda etc.). Do you think 3 days are enough or should we make it 4 days to make the most of our trip.

Will appreciate your response.

Regards

Waqas
