Sol.A Puerto - Bar prices and entertainment

Hi All

Travelling to the SOL AP in just over 2 weeks with my husband, mother/ father in law and my son who's almost 3. Was just wondering what the bar prices are like at the hotel and also what the entertainment is like on the evenings?

been to benalmadena several times so know the area well and will go out and about most nights after our evening meal but with having the little one we may just stay in the hotel for a couple of nights to make things easier! Was wondering if there's any kids entertainment, discos etc? Or would we have to go to the Sol Timor for that? And if so - how far away is the Timor?

Any other info about the hotels or anything to do with the little one would be much appreciated! 17 days to go and counting...can't wait! .

Hi Claire,

Bar prices in the Sol Aloha are usual hotel prices, not excessive but a lot more than the bars over the road. Evening entertainment was on every night, cabaret, drag act etc. really not bad at all. Hotel does try to look after kids but the Sol Timor is more geared to that, its the next building along, about 50 yards away. (We didn't have children, so didn't take a lot of notice).

After your evening meal most bars in the area will welcome kids, and be well used to their needs. The seafront promenade leads directly to the Marina which you probably know; in the other direction you can walk to the centre of Torremolinos if you wish. Bus L1 from outside the hotel (stop across the road on corner) goes to and from the centre every half-hour, good to walk one way and bus the other, does kiddie like walking?

Bus also goes to the Market in Torremolinos.

Along the promenade there are bars, cafes and seats all the way, if you never reach Torremolinos you may get as far as La Cariheula for restaurants and shops, do stop in the beachfront Chiringuitos for a snack, coffee or drink occasionally.

Have a great time

Hi Claire,

Just to add, if you walk along the paseo towards La Carihuela there are some great climbing-frames etc. on the beach just by Chiringuito Isabel, so you can have a drink and maybe some tapas whilst he clambers about with all the other kids (their beach-beds are well within supervision distance too if you want to spend longer on the beach).

Note that kids over 30 are NOT allowed on the climbing frames (I've been told off for this in the past!).

Spain is totally child-friendly, no-one will bat an eyelid at you taking him into restaurants, chiringuitos etc., so you can all enjoy your holiday. You will see parents out with youngsters way past midnight, the kids are totally integrated. If he starts kicking off the waiters will come over and play with him until he goes to sleep, as it should be.

NSG: All is not lost for the over 30's, exercise equipment in front of the Riu Marina Puerta hotel, or on the beach the far side of the marina, or the best equipment for me in Parque La Bateria, all is not lost.

In Parque La Bateria the children can play alongside the adults keeping everyone amused, or when it my grandson watching me, in fits of laughter.
