The nearest train station to Sol Aloha is El Pinillo, two stops after Torremolinos Centro. It would be a 20 minute walk (downhill) from El Pinillo to the hotel - no fun with lots of luggage. There are not normally any taxis at this station.

You could get off at Torremolinos centro then get a taxi (about €6), or local bus L1 stops outside the hotel, but takes ages - not a direct route.

From El Pinillo station walk down to roundabout, petrol station on your right. Take dual carriageway to left of garage and continue through the next roundabout to a third roundabout. Here there is a Lidl supermarket to your right, cross at the crossing and take the downward road just to your left. You will see the sea, then Sol Timor sign. Sol Aloha is next to the Timor.

If you have booked a room with Marina view that is good, block 3 perhaps better than block 2 but both ok, this view will place you on the sunny side of the hotel which has a premium cost.

If you look on google world or maps it is perhaps easier to follow these directions in reverse, from the hotel.

Did it confuse you, the walk isn't that bad, but it does depend on time of day, etc. Personally I'd go for cab from Torremolinos, or even from the Airport where there are always plenty of cabs available - fast, comfortable, arrive fresh for about 22€. The accommodation the hotel is describing is on the best side and could be in Block 3 overlooking the pool or in Block 2 directly facing the Marina, both are excellent.

If you check with www.melia.com it gives a freephone number for use from Uk, they might advise or provide email but I wouldn't be worried. Only other thought I have is that higher floors are preferable for less noise or intrusion when you are on balcony.

Have a great holiday in a really good hotel!

OK then, go for the walk from El Pinillo, it's not that bad, aim downhill to the sea. If you get lost, just ask anyone, most will understand a little English, most will know the Sol Aloha, or Lidl. If you reach Lidl it's still just downhill to the seafront. Enjoy the train, the stroll and the Aloha.

I should have added a little more. If you arrive at 10.00am then you will have had a very early start and will perhaps be a little tired. When you get to El Pinillo station where there will not be any taxis, you will walk down to the first roundabout with the garage on your right, you can walk as directed before.

But, if you feel tired take the first turn on the left off the roundabout and walk about 3 minutes to Carrefour shopping centre - there will be taxis there. Again most people will direct you if you say "Carrefour por favor" .

Anyway take your time, Sol Aloha possibly may not have your room ready before 2.00pm, in that case leave your luggage (they have storage) and enjoy a late breakfast or early lunch in one of the many places within 100 metres
