Alhambra tickets sold out

I am visiting next week, just went on the site to buy tickets for Thursday, and it is sold out.

Do they sell tickets at the place, if it's sold out on line?

Thank you,

Marjan

Marjan:

You could go very early and see if they have any tickets. Also hotels can get you tickets if you stay in them.

This is a timely reminder for visitors that you need to book tickets for the Alhambra well in advance. Tickets can be purchased up to 3 months ahead at www.alhambra-tickets.es

Marjan - at popular times of year like the Christmas/New Year period people start queuing VERY early (6 a.m.!) for the very limited number of tickets available on the day so your best bet is to contact your hotel as soon as possible to see if they have an allowance.

Yes contact the hotel and ask them to help !!

Or maybe (never done this myself) pay extra and see if you can join one of the tours arranged by local guides?

There may be other means.

People at the hotels usually know how to wrangle them.

Please let us know how you do, but experience tells me that it will be difficult at this late date even for hotels to arrange tickets unless they are working with one of the tour groups and the group has an opening. We have two family groups (24 people) who will be there next week. One purchased tickets two months ago, and the other group, who waited until mid-November, had to have their hotel arrange a tour with a private guide.

Good luck!

what hotel arranged the tour--?? I have a family of 3 (including a baby) that need tickets for tomorrow!! They will not be in Granada until the afternoon so waiting in the queue is out of the question.

I am afraid there trip to Granada will be a waste! They are only there for the day.

Any suggestions please??

Hotels will only arrange tickets for guests staying there; am afraid your family have little chance of getting tickets at such short notice. They can still look at the grounds though.

You can go very early (6 am) to try and purchase some of the remaining 50 tickets or you can try and book a city daypass (sold in local travel agencies) which includes the Alhambra. Or you can by the gardens pass which will let you in everywhere except the Nasrid palaces. Really there is a lot to see besides just the palaces. It's a pity to miss them but the Partal palaces will give you an idea of what they're like. Good luck!
